Matt Blaymire is in line for his first senior outing of the 2010 Engage Super League season after being named in the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats' 19-man squad for the Round Two game against Leeds Rhinos at the Hearwell Stadium on Sunday (Kick off 3.30pm).
The full-back had knee surgery during the winter break but was been unable to break into the side in the re-arranged round three game at Harlequins RL or last Sunday's home encounter with Catalans Dragons because the outstanding form of Aaron Murphy.
He proved his fitness when he played for the Wildcat Reserve team that beat neighbours Featherstone Rovers 28-16 in a friendly game at the Big Fellas Stadium.
John Kear, the Wildcats Head Coach, said: "Matty Blaymire is an excellent player but Aaron Murphy has been playing so well that he kept the full-back spot. Leeds Rhinos are the reigning champions so I need all my options open and after Matty came through the second team game he became available to me.
"Leeds will not have been very happy about being beaten at home by Castleford Tigers and we will have to be on our game to stand a chance of beating them."
Also back in contention for the game against the Rhinos is prop forward Richard Moore who missed the game against the Dragons because he had been suspended for being sent off at Harlequins RL and hooker Terry Newton, suffered an arm injury at the Twickenham Stoop. .
